The Sokolowskis
I don’t get too many chances to photograph families, so getting to do this session was a real treat. We have been friends with theses guys for a few years now and our kids love to hang out so you may have seen them in previous postings here on the blog.
One of the things I love doing is capturing “real life” moments. With my own kids, at weddings, I try my hardest to be invisible and just let the day unfold. That is part of the reason I LOVED this shoot.
The Sokos (that’s what we call them) have these things called “Family Fun Fridays” where they just hang out together, well I wanted to try and capture what that feels and looks like. They typically, hang out outside, watch a movie, or play the Wii. We did some of that then headed to the park, got some “traditional” shots of them walking together, but since we are friends, I knew I could get them to be a bit less formal and when I asked them to roll down the hill, no one hesitated and away they went.
